Has anybody tried Prevention Antivirus Free with Sophos Engine?

    Never heard of this.
    But apparently the free antivirus is used by millions worldwide.
    Wait for more feedback on this.

    Seems to be AVIRA for the premium version along with Sophos.

    i think the free version use virusbuster engine

    After retest, yes it uses sophos

    Good Evening! The pricing for the Antivirus Premium Product...isn't terribly Sophos..ticated...Pun Intended...at $61.00...OUCH! One thinks...if one shops around...one can find a much more affordable source for Prevention...Lol! Sincerely...Securon

    Sophos is not exactly a byword for quality or exceptional performance in detection...

    Seems they are charging the value of the both Avira and Sophos together :D

    Well, if what Firecat said above is right, would be a killer av-engine combo... but still, too much pricey for the standards.

    Hmmm ... on the 0 day malware I am playing with every day Sophos is actually one of the first engine to catch them. You can also add Fortinet engine.

    Judging by their "Global Threats" section on their main webpage they are definetly using Avira engine.

    Hmm Yes actually they are, according to AV-C
    http://www.av-comparatives.org/av-vendors/

    Meaning they must have changed quite recently from Sophos to Avira.

    So now we have another Free AV with the Avira engine. :)
