Whenever I try to go to set a backup location and hit Next, Acronis ALWAYS freezes. I'm updated to the latest build, using Vista, 2 gigs RAM, dual core processor. Ugh, frustrating. Thanks for the help.

Yeah well since it freezes I don't get any error. I just have to ctrl-alt-del out of it, and I didnt have any Backup locations to begin with =/

Now it lets me get to the menu, but only when I use a location that isnt my USB hard drive. Weird. Any ideas to get it to work with it?

Update: Actually nothing works now. The only time I can get the dialogue up for quota/limit etc is when I select a folder that isnt under a Drive, for example anything under My Computer do not work, but things like My Documents, Games, Utilities, it works....

Okay I put in the location manually and made sure no drives from My Computer were showing and it worked... what. the. hell. Weird.

    Hello Munkaboo,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Could you please do the following?

    - Run "regedit" command from Start -> Run and search for the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\Fomatik\PlaceBrowser\FavoritePlaces

    - Delete all existing values under FavoritePlaces

After that try to create backup location once again.

Should the issue persists, please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
