    Hi all,

In case a program has to reboot in order to complete its installation, how can I do that with Zsoft?

The help file doesn't deal with that procedure...

    Thanks for your help! ;)

I would say,as far as i understand you, just reboot. Its always good practice to reboot after install/uninstall,even if not mentioned by Vendor.

To analyze the installation after reboot you can do like this:

    Hi,

Sorry but I just can't understand the procedure... Let's sum up to see whether I'm wrong or not:

    STEP 1
In ZSOFT, click the button "BEFORE INSTALLATION"

    STEP 2
    Install the program.
At the end of the installation, the program asks to reboot in order to complete its installation.
==> Click NO (I'll reboot later!) and do not launch the program.

    STEP 3
    Click the button "AFTER INSTALLATION"

    STEP 4
    Reboot
    Launch the program
Finally click "FINISH AN ANALYSIS THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN STARTED"

    Is this the correct procedure?

    No, it is not. :shifty:

    STEP 1
In ZSoft, click the button "BEFORE INSTALLATION"

    STEP 2
    Install the program.
At the end of the installation, the program asks to reboot in order to complete its installation.
==> Click YES - reboot PC.

    Why YES?
To ZSoft recorded all changes that installed program did in your system (including what it changed after rebooting).

    STEP 3
    AFTER rebooting:

    - Open the installed application AND work a bit with it (thus ZSoft monitors changes that app. does when opened, like their settings in files and registry - and others...).
    - Close the installed application.
    - Open ZSoft Uninstaller AND click "FINISH AN ANALYSIS THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN STARTED" (like a "before" analysis was made the box isn't grayed).

    STEP 4
    Click the button "AFTER INSTALLATION"

P.S.: If you reboot later all your work is recorded. So if e.g. you create a .doc file meanwhile, you will lost it when the app. is uninstalled with the ZSoft analyzed log. You don't should to use others app. because all is recorded.

    ;)

Great! thanks for making the procedure clear to me :thumb: ;)

As you seem to know the app very well, I take the opportunity to ask you a piece of information: the help file mentions that the program is unable to delete binary registry entries.

    Is it a "serious" limitation?

I don't think it's a limitation. "Serious" limitation indeed not. For any reason it's needed. Like I don't know why I suggest to contact ZSoft Uninstaller'author here (forum is down, host annoyance) to clarify the point - he is quick to answer usually.
