Number of passes are not the only critaria to look at. Furthermore, while they theorically made sense for HDD, I have some doubt of its effect on SSD. That's why it should not be your only criteria

That is a non-starter and nobody here, who is serious about security, would ever trust such a thing in this category. A "proprietary algorithm?" This is a classic case of Security Through Obscurity. Kyle, I don't question your motives at all, but I question your judgment in implementing a secret algorithm. Even your statement, "So far, no users reported they've been able to recover content..." That's a pretty small baseline - in fact, it has a name in the security world, "Security Through Minority." I think "so far" is the key to your statement (pardon the pun).

Mix of content scrambling (multiple passes) + file name and location obfuscation.

So... Has anyone used this software?

@Kyle_Katarn I am wondering: What is your reason for not going Open-Source, but still providing the tool for free? There is no reason for a "trade secret" when there is no trade.

Some of the core code sections are common with other products of mine. Moreover, I see no added value in making this one open source.
But happy to get feedback on it :)
