Thx, respectful answer. I think it wasn't anybodys intention to start an A vs B, I just wanted to make some things clear regarding the misleading statement of Mayahana.

Can you give some more details about your own "engine" and it's current state? As far as i read it is atm about autostart locations and known places from current infections. Am I right? Do you plan to add other things, like forensics, cloud repair capabilities and so on?

    Salutations,

Could you add password protection to Zemana AntiMalware 2 Beta?

    > Protect setting with a password.
    > For exclusions and the setting of the engines? Password protection!

    Moose's World

Also, I remove cryptoprevent! Install Hitman Pro Alert, now a little BSOD!
    No problems with Sandboxie!

    Thanks for the reply, Emre.

Most popular portable apps do not write to AppData, they write to the .exe's directory. See portableapps.com, portablefreeware.com.

I do not quite understand what you mean by "these files can make your desktop look cluttered". You can easily change this by offering your .exe in a folder inside a ZIP file.

Also, if you use a portable app, it is common sense that moving the main executable will also move the settings files if the files are already written to the .exe's folder.

Can you offer a command-line parameter to back up the files and settings to the .exe's directory and then remove all system remnants? Then, when launching ZAM again, you can use the already-available files and settings and copy them back to the system directories if needed.

While I have Scheduled Scans disabled, I still get this at every boot:
    1. UAC pop-up that C:\Program Files (x86)\Zemana AntiMalware\ZAM.exe" /runservice tries to start
    2. Zemana AntiMalware starts and shows the main screen

Why there is UAC pop-up after boot?
Other programs can check program updates and do scheduled scans just fine and those do not have UAC pop up after boot.

Logged onto my computer, Zemana AntiMalware performed a missed scheduled scan & some items indicated as failed.

When I checked on the license status, it has changed from Lifetime to 15 days remaining, I am unable to insert license again with error: An error occured while trying to activate license.

The only way out is to uninstall Zemana AntiMalware, clean up registry entries, appdata etc & reinstall again.

ZAMv2.2.1.105.Setup.exe "installs" as a "portable" on my system as did all its predecessors.

Thanks for this. This is the first kind of software like this I have ever owned. It is nice owning a program like this and especially since I got it for free. I downloaded Hitman Pro and I like this more. Hitman Pro found nothing on my computer. Zemana found Iwin games crap. I shouldn't have bought anything from them. How many Antivirus vendors does Hitman Pro have? I only saw two. I think Kaspersky and Bitdefender.

Scanning seems smoother with the latest version...may just be an impression, though. It did the job efficiently, with minimum fuss and quickly.

So, so far a GREAT job.

When I click on the shortcut icon twice, there are 2 Zemanas in the tray. 3 clicks=3, 4=4 and so on. Every instance takes about 5Mb of RAM. Please, fix this. It should only open 1 instance IMO.

Today, I tried to run a scan in safe mode and the app wouldn't do it. Could that ability be added? Thanx

I installed this yesterday. Windows 8.1 64. I haven't had any antivirus/protection type programs on the computer for months other than Online Armor.

Ran a quick scan fine. An hour or so later, just pretty much typing emails and having a video/movie playing in VLC or Potplayer, the computer BSOD'd.

I uninstalled Zemana through Control Panel. Rebooted. Used the computer for the same stuff as before. A few hours later, another BSOD. The Windows blue screen with the emoticon frowny face and the % counter while it checks your files put "zam64.sys" on the screen.

I used a search program on my files. I still have Zemana folders in
    Users\(name)\AppData\Local and
    Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local and
    Zemana AntiMalware folder in Users\AppData\Local\Zemana

There's various files in there such as Zam.trace and dbghelp.dll and symsrv.dll

I'm going to delete all of those and hopefully the BSODs will stop.

I had a bsod today too. Something about a pooler and Zemana crashed and could not be started. Then all of a sudden I see a bsod and something about a pooler.

    Windows 7 64-bit

This is a really nice scanner. I like its simplicity although I would like to see the areas each scan touches.

  24. Well it is a shameless copy of HMP (their former business partner), so why would they keep their word to beta testers?

Why wouldn't they if they are honest company?
    That could ruin their reputation.
