Windows Defender is antimalware at least the engine says it is. So is ZAM. ZAM doesnt deactivate WD when you install it. Should it? Is running 2 like this in real time, bad or no its ok.

But what about compatibility with another antivirus? It could make ZAM incompatible in a layered security setup.

This feature is for full blown antiviruses not for companion anti malware.

ok so if real time protection is from Zemanas own engine then that is impressive. Everything that I have thrown at it has been detected. Not that I claim to be a expert but that was about 25 pieces of malware. Not saying it is perfect but they have created a very good in house engine.

    Love this piece of software

    Via the auto update:
If you have installed the beta version, you are updating to the latest beta.
If you have installed the stable version, you are updating to the latest stable.

    Suggestion 1:
IMHO "Quarantine Re-scan" option would be nice to have.
That way user could easily restore FP to its original location.

Scan a folder with malware and stop it before it's finished.
Choose to cancel, i.e. do not clean infections.
ZAM main window changes color to red.

    Suggestion 2:
There should be a message/button on main page to finish that cleaning action/re-scan PC again in order to solve the problem.
Otherwise the GUI will remain red even if Real-time protection is turned on.

What is the general opinion with Windows defender being active, i.e. is the performance impact minimal so just leave it on?

Also, is there likely to be any special offers come the January sales?
