Suggestion: Upload ZAM file to virustotal. Determine which AVs do NOT detect ZAM as a nasty. Then pick a good one & use it to replace Avira. Avira doesn't deserve support if it won't heed notices of a false positive.

Thanks for the advice but I don't choose an AV with that criteria.

Yes, this is very annoying. We have some plans for the next version and we will try to avoid Avira detection next time, hopefully.

Has Avira even acknowledged ZAM's contact attempt on this matter?

I sent them email to resolve this permanently, but as you can see the same thing happened again.

I think that ZAM (at least he portable version), brings a new hash every time you download it. Maybe that's why there's some difficulty in white-listing it.

Yes, i downloaded it three times and i get three different checksums.
I see that one single bit is changing within the file with each download of the portable version.

Yes, and if you upload each one of those to VT, it will be like uploading a never analyzed before file at each time.

    Avira did it again!
Flagged both ZAM version, I just uploaded to VT. (TR/Dldr.Agent.jhirk)

Hope Avira does not kill the next pushed update of ZAM, on my customers machines.
Otherwise I will set a policy to block Avira, from running on my customers machines...

Yeah, that's modern AV today, whitelist by hash, let's goooooo. That pretty much explains how anti-malware software was born and why you need to have one to keep an eye on your antivirus :)

Is it safe to say that Zemana Antimalware Premium (real time protection) can be used as a standalone product and not just a second opinion scanner or supplement?

I would say that you still need Antivirus for as long as they don't state it can replace it

Correct. ZAM with real time feature works similar as Webroot (on-execution scan).
For some that kind of protection is more than enough, for others it isn't.
