Just broke news on t.v: (public knowledge) Are you awear that by simply typing in an area code plus phone number in (google) information and location of the owner will be reveal. in some cases a map to the location can also be obtained. This info was just part of a local nightly news broadcast. ...appearantly there is a way of removing the phone number from (google)..but only caught bits of that....seems there is sup[posed to be "something" at the lower right side of the page that reveals the phone number info that when clicked will lead to the removal page.... not sure about this part....but....the phone number being search for may need to be a number listed in a public phone book..........
Yep. It's no different from having it published in the phone book ...... Just more accessible. I know people who have asked Google to remove their number and it came right off.
If you want to try and get as much of this as possible don't stop at Google. Be sure and visit the other websites listed on Google's Phonebook Name Removal page. http://www.google.com/help/pbremoval.html You will find them about midway down the page. You'll be surprised to find yourself also listed with all or many of those sites too if Google has you. One of them also lists your correct age. Some of these sites will also give you other sites not listed on Googles page to visit to request removal from. Be prepared to do more then just fill in some blanks. At one site you will need to make a phone call request from the actual telephone number you want your information removed from. There are others that you must write to in order to have them remove your information. Some of the sites don't make it easy for you to find their removal instructions. It is a time consuming task and who knows if there are not others you just didn't find or that will spring into existence at some time in the future!
Biga was very nice of you to post the added information. Often it takes a real effort to locate detailed info as you provided. ******************* MIKE Hey Buddy.....yes, had heard the number could be removed but never attempted doing so myself. snowy
