Seriously, making a webmail application that spits the above message and that is basically it, well, speaks volumes about the email provider once again. Lame :thumbd:

All is well (for now). This was the first time I faced the problem for more than a few minutes.

    Thank god for that!

Sometimes I wonder if Yahoo! are just a bunch of ... well ... Yahoos ...

When you open a folder in Yahoo! Mail, how high does your CPU usage spike? Mine goes to > 50% for a few seconds (till the folder opens) even if the folder is empty.

Yes, I get that spike but for only about a second or two.

I'm luckier because I can see it for longer when I use a slower connection.

Edit: I've switched my GMail to the simpler "HTML" mode. Let's see how that goes. The only disadvantage I will have is that "selecting all" doesn't work. Not a problem if I check in often and clean up often.

Here's hoping Yahoo! sings something simple as well.

Mind you, I've yet to check this on my 64 bit desktop. I wonder if Yahoo! will fix it for Opera users?

EDIT: Just checked my desktop, the spike is hardly noticeable.

To upgrade to have to agree to the new privacy agreement, which is worse than before..
They'll force everyone on 30 days to the new mail, if you don't want that, you have to move back to Classic. I created a new account to check out the new version, it's nice, better than the current one, shame about the privacy :(

As Daveski pointed out, Opera 11.11 doesn't work with the new mail. I've snuck back to Classic.

That's weird as I'm not experiencing *any* issues whatsoever accessing several accounts with both Aurora and Opera 11.11. Perhaps it's limited to the U.K. (or elsewhere) and I'm in the U.S?

Yahoo! Mail seems fine to me at the moment, whatever browser I'm using. In Opera I use 'Classic' & in Iron the beta works fine (I'm with BT Yahoo!).

Of course, there's always time ...

Yahoo mail is my disposable account. Am still seeing prompts to upgrade and being diverted to classic, which IMO is better anyway. Beyond that, little has changed with Yahoo mail that I can see. Lots of spam. Still a good source for infected e-mails, many of which go right past their scanner, useful for those who like to test with the real thing. Many of them are disguised to look like delivery notices from FexEx or UPS.

I've always liked the yahoo classic email as it is simple and just does what I need it for...but I don't like some of the newer features (the "chat" component, for example). I think I'm going to try out gmx for a while and see if I like it any better. I have one old yahoo email address that I will have to keep as long as I am breathing, I suppose.
