Xupiter is in my startup. It is not checked, but is still there after using x-cleaner and Site 1 of spywareblaster. Is this o.k. or can I totally get rid of it?

    Hi Chris Web,

Could you please recheck everything in msconfig (do not reboot!! ) and post your HijackThis log
Download, Unzip and run HijackThis, Then click Scan > Save log, save the log as a .txt file and copy & paste its content into your next post.
Don´t fix anything yet. Most of what it finds is harmless.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Whato_O?

Sorry, I don't know very much about computers.

Could you explain in a more simple language?

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris Web,

You stated Xupiter was in your startup, but that it wasn´t checked. I assumed that you were referring to msconfig.
Available through Start > Run > type msconfig in the dialog box > click OK.
What I´d like you to do is go there and put a checkmark against everything that is listed there. Do NOT reboot after doing that, because they would all become active.
Then go to this site: http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and read the instructions there.
Then post the log as per my instructions.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks Pieter,

Unfortunately, my computer completely froze before I could take your advice.

Even the clock stopped this morning at 8:29.

Am going to try to get someone to come over to fix it.
Hopefully, without losing all information... ugghhh.....

Using a different computer now, so won't be able to check e-mail as frequently.

    Thanks, Chris
