XP Mode / Virtual PC Install Failure

Anyone here savvy at reading CBS logs to see why my installation of Virtual PC on my Windows 7 Pro system keeps failing?

Steps per MSFT:
1. Validate
2. Install XP Mode. This went fine.
3. Install Virtual PC with Windows Update: kb958559 BUT...
upon installing, Windows Update shows "failure configuring Windows Updates", then shuts down and reverts the system back to before the attempt.

In a basic log I can see the error: [FONT=&quot]0x80004005[/FONT]

I've seen a lot of people had problems with kb958559 failing to install, with different error codes showing up.

I have attempted to turn off AV, do a clean boot, increase filters from 8 to 14 like other sites/threads have suggested, but to no avail.

I don't know how to read the CBS logs. Can anyone assist if I upload them?
