    Hi DrRichP,

    Before you start please unzip hijackthis.exe to a folder of it´s own. The program creates backups in the folder it is in. In a Temp folder they easily disappear.

    Check the following items in HijackThis.
    Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = http://www.websearch.com/ie.aspx?tb_id=%tb_id
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {D6DFF6D8-B94B-4720-B730-1C38C7065C3B} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\BTLINK\btlink.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0A5CF411-F0BF-4AF8-A2A4-8233F3109BED} - C:\PROGRA~1\SEARCH~1\stoolbar.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D6DFF6D8-B94B-4720-B730-1C38C7065C3B} - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\BTLINK\btlink.dll

    O3 - Toolbar: McAfee VirusScan - {ACB1E670-3217-45C4-A021-6B829A8A27CB} - C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee VirusScan\VSCShellExtension.dll (file missing)
    O3 - Toolbar: &Search Toolbar - {6A85D97D-665D-4825-8341-9501AD9F56A3} - C:\PROGRA~1\SEARCH~1\stoolbar.dll

    O8 - Extra context menu item: Power Search - res://C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\MSIETS\msielink.dll//iemenu

    O16 - DPF: {8E28B3A9-FE83-45D1-B657-D5426B81A121} (CustomerCtrl Class) - http://cs7b.instantservice.com/jars/customerxsigned35.cab

    Then reboot and delete:
    C:\Program Files\COMMON FILES\MSIETS <= entire folder
    C:\Program Files\COMMON FILES\BTLINK <= entire folder
    C:\Program Files\SEARCHBAR <= entire folder

    Regards,

    Pieter
