everytime i tried to do a WU with vista i got this error code 80072F8F. it means your clock is set wrong, but MS are checking your computer's time with a SSL connection. my clock is set correctly, but not filtering SSL fixed the problem. does anyone else have this problem? why isn't it working when SSL is filtered, has anyone checked? i found the KB article here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929458 i don't want to have to change settings for WU to work, i don't understand why it's not working o_O

Have you tried adding Windows Update to Proxo's bypass list?

I've never had a problem with WU and Proxo, not that I run WU that often. What ports are you running Proxo on? What config are you using?

You could use my custom Proxo installation (see my sig) to see if it really is Proxo that is the problem, or is it is just the configuration. It is set up to work on 8080 and uses SSL.

thanks, n8. i'm not using that computer atm, but i'll remember to check the config next time i use it. i did chain proxo to privoxy the other day because it was the quickest way to use TOR, so maybe i did something to the setup without noticing. now i know it's most likely something i've done it should help find out what's wrong. thanks.

Remember, when you are ready to use my custom installation that it is a complete installation with a patched executable and filters. Just extract the .7z file. I may create an installer for it later.
