Had to download the installer. WSA v8.0.4.17 continually stated that I'm using the newest version on right-click tray icon > Check for updates.

Did you just install over top of the existing application?

Clicking Check For Updates just gives a canned message until your keycode reaches the update tag.

The proper way is to download the original installer from the normal place and then run it. Updates in about seven seconds, silently.

You can find the installer from many sources, including logging into the Web control page for your account.

I hope that this is not an inappropriate post and I hope that it's ok to not start a new thread for this.

I couldn't believe it, however, when I saw that NewEgg has WSA AV for $4.99!!

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832296079

I apologize, but I don't know if this is only good in the USA or not. Granted it's only AV and not IS or Complete, but that's still a heck of a good deal. Even though I just bought and installed WSA IS a couple weeks ago, I'm tempted to buy this and just hold onto it....

Just to add that also the new Opera (Chromium based) is supported. You only need to open extensions in your Opera and drag file CHROME_1.0.0.11.crx from the directory c:\ProgramData\WRData\PKG\Chrome\ and drop it to the extensions. Afterwards you have to confirm the installation and you're done. The same is valid for the password manager, drag file lpchrome.crx from the directory c:\ProgramData\WRData\PKG\ and drop it to the extensions in Opera.

Easy and fast workaround how to get the new Web shield and password manager work in Opera Chromium.

    Enjoy!

Very helpful, pegas. I was wondering how to do that just now while eating my toast and marmalade!

You're welcome :) btw, quite late breakfast, isn't it?

It's worth noting that the both extensions need to be updated manually. It means that you have to check the both *.crx files for newer version from time to time and if new files (extensions) will be there you will have to undergo the same procedure again. The old extensions can be removed from Opera. Keep only the latest ones. The both extensions are updated independently on WSA, i.e. even if WSA isn't updated to a higher build, the Web shield and password extensions can be updated.

To make the cat feel a bit better tell the cat that he/she is not alone and it will feel better soon (unless it's something more serious of course then i'm sorry), i've been in bed for around 2 days and the food came back up out the wrong way two times yesterday. :gack: But i'm feeling a bit better now and the strength is slooooowly coming back :(

Too bad that no AV in the world can protect us from these little malwares spreading in the air. :)

Any way to manually install the web filtering extensions? I don't seem to be receiving any of these updates automatically.
