WSA v8.0.1.177 Released

Hi All

WSA v8.0.1.177 has just silently (and as usual...not a whisper) updated on my system.

All things running well...as usual.

Hopefully someone from Webroot will post details of the changes made?

No update here yet. I don't understand why it takes a few days before the update is available for some areas.

 

It's funny the Closed Beta link is still .173 and the regular download link shows .177!

Thanks for the update heads-up TH. When you can post the update change log, please do so.....

 

We spread updates across several days to prevent all users from updating at once in case there is an issue and to just spread load.

It looks like we indeed haven't published it to the beta download locations but it is on the live links. I'll make sure it's published out everywhere

Just a suggestion: may Webroot think about a notification window or blinking icon or something to alert the user that the app has been updated? Or at least be there an advanced option for users to choose to have a notification?

 

We have had some requests for this, and we've tried to design it to be as silent as possible... but it has actually become problematic for us as it is too silent for some users.

I suspect you'll see some optional changes in this area soon

We have another update coming out in the next few days which will address some other issues, including Everquest support. I'll keep everyone updated here
