    Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the latest build of WSA and Sandboxie v4 + Firefox.

Before getting into details, let's mention that until mid July, the combo "WSA - FF - Sandboxie" had been working fine on my PC for a long time.

From mid July to this week, I didn't use my PC.

Yesterday, I got Win7 x64 SP1 reinstalled on a new hard drive. I then reinstalled (in this order) Rollback Rx, WSA 8.0.2.167, FF22, and Sandboxie 4.04.

With this setup, here is the error message I get repeatedly in a popup every time I launch FF in Sandboxie: SIBE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie service: GUIPROXY_00000001 -firefox.exe [C0000061]

Here are some tests I did:

    First part:

Tested Internet Explorer 10 (32 bit) with Sandboxie... with the same results. However, Opera 15 works fine (no popup).

    Second part:

Using Rollback Rx, I then rolled back to a snapshot I took before installing WSA and Sandboxie. Installed Avast! Free instead of WSA, and then reinstalled Sandboxie 4.04. Result: No popup when I run FF or IE sandboxed!

I already reported this issue in the Sandboxie forum, but since WSA is the only program that was updated very recently (the latest builds of Sandboxie and FF were released before mid July), I also have to bring it up in this forum.

    Thanks

p.s.: I am really looking forward to see WSA and Sandboxie get along again!

@stapp: Thanks for the info. I was aware of that issue between WSA Identity Shield and the beta versions of Sandboxie 4, earlier this year. Since PrevxHelp announced in May that it had been fixed, I wonder why it is happening again.

I tested the work around described by Shadek (e.g. to go from 'Protected' to 'Allow' on the browsers in Identity Shield in WSA), and it does work! But I am reluctant to leave it to "Allow", since I read that it is better to leave browsers to "Protected".

I wonder what PrevxHelp has to say about it.

p.s.: I attached a screenshot of the error message displayed in Firefox by Sandboxie

It sounds like they've changed some of their communication - has anyone else experienced this as well? I'll see what we can do about working around it again.

    Thanks!

No problems with running WSA .167 and Sandboxie 4.04 with the latest Chrome and FF browsers here. Also have both browsers as 'protected' and 'monitored'.

How strange... After all, it can't be happening only to me...

@PrevxHelp: Would it be of any help to send you the logs?

The last time I sent logs to Webroot was quite a while ago. Therefore, I would need you to remind me where to download the program that will collect the logs, and where to send them after.

    Thanks

and received - thanks! Unfortunately there isn't anything obvious in them but the steps you outlined by email are definitely helpful. I'll have our guys take a closer look and let you know what we find.

Any updates on this? I also have this problem. When I set Internet Explorer or Chrome on "Protect" and then run IE11 or Chrome sandboxed I get:

    SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - iexplore.exe [C0000061]
    SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [C0000061]

When I set Internet Explorer or Chrome on "Allow" everything works fine.

    I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with Sandboxie v4.06 and WSA v8.0.4.17.

Just to let you know that this appears to be an issue with Win 8 or 8.1 as I am running the latest Sandboxie with WSA with no problems whatsoever on Win 7 (64 bit).
