Sweet! It looks nice overall! I will diddle around with it myself tomorrow. I've been looking forward to seeing their 2014 products. I like the easy access they gave to the Webroot Community. We should make many new friends in the Webroot Community soon. If anyone runs into problems they can get the assistance they need fast. Webroot is known for their great support.

Congratulations. The Gui looks beautiful and mature. :thumb:
    And everything works as expected.

Opening the Gui uses 0,5% CPU on my machine which is unbelievable good.

    Re: WSA v8.0.4.12

Have noticed that BETA is no more used in the GUI. So will the beta channel be retained or ...?

Another finding which scares me pretty well ... the authentication popup we are used from the good old Prevx 3 has gone. I want it back, pleaaaaaaaaaaase.

Looking good. There doesn't seem to be an option to show WSA in Windows Action Center, or I must be missing it? Thanks.

Yes, option is not there but WSA shows in WAC under AV and Anti-malware protection, at least on my Vista OS.

Yes WSA is automatically shown in Windows Action Centre. No option to change this. I think this is good. WSA is supposed to be shown in the WAC. Why would there be an option to hide in the WAC? Good move removing the option.

Exactly - this was removed in our attempt to simplify all of the settings. There wasn't really much of a purpose for having it in, so we took it out in the interest of saving some complexity :)

Regarding the authenticating files popup, unfortunately that was causing more problems than it was worth (as some members here had seen) and it wasn't possible to fix some of the display complexities, especially with multiple users logged on. Additionally, it produced some confusion, with people thinking that when it showed was the only time the file was being monitored. I suggest just using the Execution History view if you want to get better visibility into what's happening (and you can double click on each of the process event lines to view exactly what changes each file is making).

That's very sad and I surely will need more time to accept this because I was used to them since the good old Prevx.

Clicking on a tab on the right side of the main interface shows more information or simply Learn More. It would be great if I could click on the tab again and it would close and become the single line tab again.

Click- Identity Shield - Identity Shield on, phishing Shield on, Learn more.

    It'd be great if
Click again- Identity Shield- Identity Shield

Also I use AV version. I don't like seeing +Backup and +Password Manager tabs on the right side every time I open the main WSA interface. It would be great if there were not present in AV version. I know they are there to encourage AV users to upgrade to Complete or Internet Security Plus versions but AV users already made their choice in AV. They don't need the features in other versions. They like AV version better. Why try to encourage them constantly with the tabs on the interface? When they need to upgrade they will.

I have a question - now that some of the granularity options are removed, like the self-protection level, the options to use low CPU and resources, is this affecting compatibility with other AV solutions?

No, the CPU/RAM usage in 2014 is lower than the low settings in 2013, so we just removed them. AV compatibility is controlled by the two checkboxes in the Access Control (which are the equivalents of the old Self Protection slider, but as more straightforward checkboxes).

    Hi All

Does one have to be using a beta license key to automatically get updated to the 2014 beta version? Just interested as I have such a key from the last beta and was hoping to find sometime to renew old acquaintances...:D

    Hello Baldrick,

It does not have to be a "beta key", but you have to use the link that was in your original beta registration email from Webroot in order to download the beta version.

Am now off for a good nose about. Will have to see if I can also find the beta test script I put together for the 2013 version...dust that off too and update. :argh:
