@Rasheed187 Check your program versions - you probably have KS Office Beta 3 which J_L posted the link to.
I'm using v 9.1.0.4550, and it's called Kingsoft Writer, not WPS. So I guess you're right. Another thing that I don't understand is that I can not find Presentation and Spreadsheet in my WPS Office folder, very weird.
@Rasheed187 That's the 2013 version, and it was still called Kingsoft Office back then. If you have a look at J_L's post there is a link to WPS Office 2014 Beta 3, which is a more recent free version if you want to update.
I must have missed these replies, but what I meant is that in newer version there are certain features removed like you said, so in that way it would be a "downgrade".
No, the beta 3 version, is fully functional. It's only more recent releases that become limited after 30 days.
WPS Office Personal Edition 9.1.0.5050 http://www.neowin.net/news/wps-office-personal-edition-9105050
I think I will need to upgrade to the new WPS Office because I noticed that Kingsoft Writer is not working correctly together with Sandboxie. I had a quite heavy crash inside the sandbox, and after that it asks to upload the document, I don't like this stuff! It also kept resizing images inside documents for no good reason.
Installed it, added the dutch dictionary. Compatibility over last version I tried (around 2010) has much improved. Taking it for a spin. Thx for the tips No watermarks, but does resize images in word documents, so could well be a showstopper.
So you saw the same? Seems like a major bug to me, looks like I will have to search for another solution. I will now check out AbiWord.
Yes, even when using advanced options with absolute position and sizing it forgets the changes, you found a major bug (also showstopper for me)
Any idea why the last version of WPS Office tries to install into C:\Users\........\AppData\Local\Kingsoft\WPS Office\ and not to C:\Program Files?
Another question on: reading here: http://wps.com/privacy-policy/, I wonder if a fw it's enough to block all kind of communications that WPS search to achieve.
It's probably using the Microsoft (either oneclick, or clickonce) installer. That would be a deal killer for me. I have it on one app I use. Horrible. But what it does is allow them to automatically update without your knowing. May also be kicked off with a rundll32 execution.
