When I tried to run Norton help, I received the following message: For security reasons this file has been temporarily blocked from executing: file:c:\winnt\help\nav.chm ""Risk Assessment: Medium *> Suspicious strings detected. WormGuard has found a few strings in this file that are suspicious. *> Contains suspicious string: virus LINE=.../NAV_trouble9.html.§Ârœ|./NAV_virus_found.html. ]../NAV_virus_found11.html.¢ñ´7./NAV_virus_found1... Is this a virus or a false aarm? just before this occurred, I was live with Gateway tech support who accessed my computer (does this mean my windows fire wall was disabled temporarily?? and a virus got inserted by someone else). stopped some start up items (may be I stopped some Norton files too) Later I viewed my e-mails using mail washer (so I dont think the new e-mails got on to my computer yet) and then processed mail (none downloaded as all of them were marked fro deletion -forgot if they were also marked fro bouncing)- but Norton showed a warning that it can not that there were errors - probably a virus was trying to modify the Norton security. What is this file nav.chm? Do you think I have a virus?
Typo correction: I meant but Norton showed a warning that it can not ensure integrity of Norton Security and that there were errors - probably a virus was trying to modify the Norton security.
NAV.chm must be the helpfile; did you scan it with TDS too and maybe extra with an online scanner? Was it the first time WG alarmed on that helpfile? Does WG stop other helpfiles from other AV/AT software too?
