I am confused as to some of the details on the blaster worm.
If you only had a firewall up, but didnt have port 135 blocked, wouldn't the blaster worm have gotten through?
Wouldnt you have to write a rule?
In other words if you had ZA installed, it wouldnt have caught it on its own, would it?
    thanks for any clarification

    Hi Brian,

Most software firewalls would block TCP port 135 by default, and ZA certainly does. You do not need to define a specific block rule since it would do it with any normal install - whether at High or Medium firewall security.

I didnt get it (worm), but now I am totally confused as to why SO many people and companies DID get it. I can understand indiuviduals not being up to date with security, but all those companies? The city of Philly was blasted (pun intended).
    I am just amazed!
thanks for clearing it up for me.
