WVSX base has great value in a layered approach to security, if you want to use a different firewall, for now it seams WVSX base is abandoned in favor of WVSX extended

If disable the Web Protection, Firewall and Network Intrusion Detection, WVSX will work like the base version.

 

WiseVector StopX v3.03 and v3.06, other versions not tested.
i have Windows 10 pc, other security programs are:
Eset Nod32 Antivirus, HitmanPro.Alert

WiseVector full scan will freeze computer, and i need to do forced computer shutdown with button.
(context menu opens, but task manager won't open. windows button sometimes work, but shutdown computer does nothing.)
Last scanned item is:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.624F8B84B80_3.455.709.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\media\audio\fmodbanks\R1_Stingers_ ...
it does not show full path, there are few, game is Forza Horizon 5, Xbox App installation.

Scanning those with context menu option will also freeze pc.
Possible others too, because there are R2-7_Stingers_ too.

I did send those files with your Upload File -option, but not sure if you get them.
path and files are protected, like it's not possible to copy those files to desktop.
(i did try to open that small file with notepad or wordpad, but pc was freezed.

Files are dated 21.4, i played it 2-3 weeks ago. now my subscription to Xbox Game Pass for PC has ended, cannot update that game.
edit: i installed Wisevector week ago, so its possible that you cannot play that game with Wisevector turned on.
But i will find out that later. i'am gonna update subscription or buy that game.

edit2: i also have v3.03 installed to another pc, FH5 also installed.
other security programs: Microsoft Defender, HitmanPro.Alert.
I have only done 1 full scan and it freezed. Not tested more with that, i need that computer next week. so i don't wanna crash it more.

edit3: also, on pc1. i added this directory Exclusion:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.624F8B84B80_3.455.709.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\media\audio\fmodbanks
but it was ignored by full scan and computer freezed on same spot.

Just done a quick scan and WiseVector StopX picked up rufus-3.18p.exe as a Trojan.Generic. Tested same file on Virus Total with no flagging of virus/trojan.

Think you need to look at this and "adjust" Wisevector StopX settings.

@WiseVector, I am experiencing way too many real-time protection FPs (default WVSX settings) and I continue to receive the very same real-time FP after I have excluded it! It also seems to me that the mechanism within the real-time notifier to report an FP is inoperative. All of this has been going on ever since v3.05 (now running v3.07).

For any curious, WVSX 3.07 (real time off, HIPS and FW at Low) will detect and block the msdt.exe process called up by Follina.
