As mentioned in #2125 I have done that, but with the frequency of FPs (with v3.05) I simply didn't have the time to report them all. If only the reporting you desire would actually work when the user Excludes the FP...

 

I like to know. Can you tell us what kind of files are getting reported?

Thanks for your reply indicating that the file was resolved as a FP 2 days ago. (Not reported in this forum). I just checked with another scan of 7z.sfx
using WiseVector. It is still flagging it up. See attachment and date
and timestamp (UK).??

WVSX has a lot of FP`s that does not get handled even though reported.
I have installed many programs during the last months that other security software have known for years that they are secure, WVSX has still not fixed thoose reports.

I can confirm that 7z.sfx is not now being picked up as a threat in both v3.03 and 3.05. However see my next post.

I am using version 3.05 of your software.

I have attached another file which your software is flagging as a trojan Winrar Default.SFX

I have scanned this on VirusTotal 3 out of 68 flag it as malicious.
The file type is very similar to to the one I sent you a few days ago ie 7z.sfx

I also attach an image of the Threat message

I have reported it through the program, that should be enough. The handling of issues like this has to improve so it works as it should when you go "live" with it. Seeing the problem with this on several sites on the net i can see that this is a real issue, so far.

 

Re WVSX's FP issue, after I've reported FPs and subsequently informed they have been fixed the very same FP reappears!
Case-in-point: Ventoy (for Windows) - Download . Ventoy.

I reported this FP in Feb and was informed that it was fixed. WVSX is issuing the same malware alert again. If this FP was fixed (and excluded when first alerted in Feb) why is the same event triggering again?

This is just one of several repeated FP incidents I've experienced with WVSX v3.05 real-time behavior detection.

 

Personally Im more than happy to help out a developer that offers this level of protection with no ads, for free, who is always responsive and always makes a timely and honest effort to address issues, most times successfully. Some things Im sure are more challenging and just arent fixed over night. Kudos and many thanks to Wisevector for an excellent program.

 

That's my intention as well - and once behavior detection 'behaves' I will most likely become a paid subscriber.

 

Most FPs reported through the program are resolved by AI, can you please send them by email, so we can do a manual analysis. Thanks.

Can't reach Wisevector website anymore over VPN. Doing manual update in the GUI to receive streaming updates also fails.

 

Just now updated to 3.06. Fast d/l. New version is running just fine.

Installed yesterday 3.06 and today jumps on me with this.


Scanned on Virustotal, all green.
I've uploaded it via GUI.

 

Have you changed the heuristics to Aggressive?

 

Nope, everything is default as it was in 3.03.
