    Best to read the post I linked earlier.

    Hi,
    Autoupdate is not available now, you can uninstall V3.03 and install V3.05 or overwrite.

    Hi,
    1. Have you installed any other AV?Did it block the update of WVSX?
    2. The update files are placed in the subfolder named "bat". "bat" is palced in the installation folder.
    3. Please exit WVSX first and go to Task Manager->WiseVectorSvc.exe->End task.
    4. Copy the entire folder "dat" from one machine to the other and replace the folder with the same name.
    Please let me know if you have any question.

    Hi, these changes are not implemented in the base WVSX.

    Strangely, also having this problem since v3.05, but Win 10. Uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference.
    The 'failing' machine only also has Comodo Firewall (CS settings, but with auto-containment temporarily disabled).

    @WiseVector :
    No other AV is installed in either machine.
    I will replace the "dat" folder as you suggest.

    I also have two other questions before I do:
    In update.ini (of install folder), under [DataBaseVersion], the "updated" machine
    has two lines which show the version number and LastUpdate date:
    Code:
    [DataBaseVersion]
    Version=1645985271
    LastUpdate=2022-02-27 14:02:02
    The machine with the failed update does not have these two lines.
    Q1. Should the update.ini file also be replaced?

    Also, the folder "cfg" contains more recent versions (dated around the update date)
    of three of four files:
    lr.cfg, r.cfg and rec.de (the fourth, set.de is identical and dated 12/6/2020).
    Q2: Should the "cfg" folder also be replaced?

    Thank you again

    I tried the procedure in #2103, but still get the same: Receiving, Downloading - then 'Update failed. Please try again later"

    Edit: Tried uninstalling and reinstalling (twice), and suddenly update works (and 'Last update' shows on panel).

    Hi,
    No need to replace the files and the folders. The two lines of code just showing the time of last update.

    hi, can you add paint.net , a very popular program to whitelist, its hard to whitelist, the installer is flagged as malware by WVXS, exclude does nothing

    Has anybody tried running WVSX with MS Defender + Defender UI at the same time, or would it be completely overkill?

    Hi @ WiseVector

    Just scanned my Win 10 (latest version) desktop and Wisevector 3.05 flagged up 7z.sfx (a part of 7Zip) as Trojan Generic.

    I checked the file on Virus Total and only one flagged it up as problematic.

    I have uploaded the file to you (prior to this post) and include here a screenshot

    Hi@TerryWood

    Thanks for your report.
    The file has been well received. It will be resolved once it's confirmed to be a FP.

    Seems that Comodo has finally vetted WVSX fully and it no longer will be viewed as unrecognized.

    After running v3.03 (rather uneventfully) for several months I recently installed v3.05 (with default settings) and I've been experiencing way too many FPs! ...so I'm reverting to v3.03.

    ... Or you could have reported the FPs.

    I did report a few, but quite a few more kept occurring and I couldn't keep up with it. If only the Exclude and 'Report' was functional...
