yes, it was a missing certificate on my pc, it is fixed now. Thanks to all.
The latest installer is triggering “The application was unable to start correctly” accompanied by an error code (0xc000007b)
Latest w10, tried nsudo giving max privileges, nothing in any logs I can find, installer from home page
This issue happened just after installation?
Can you please check whether WVSX is on the task scheduler or not?
- It happened when I tried to reinstall (some ill advised "maintenance" on my part)
- it is completely removed so no Task Scheduler info unfortunately
Anyways I now believe it is W10 causing the problem as Ahnlab V3lite installer does the same... Im thinking a bad WUpdate as it has been causing some problems lately
Thanks for your info. Did you try to install WVSX in another system?
No, I havent tried that yet... thanks
Edit: FYI... I did try your installer on another system (dualboot W8.1) and it worked perfectly.
PS: Thanks again for your availability and feedback... I know a lot of people on Wilders appreciate it.
My computers are protected on your recommendations with Comodo FW. For you, are our privacy personal data preserved if I add WiseVector that is a chinese product. Can i have confidence with this product?Have you verified into this product that we can have confidence in it?Thanks a lot
Hi Bushman! Generally speaking, any application that can potentially compromise your personal data must do two things- first it must somehow acquire such information from you (for example, by means of things that act as keyloggers, bots, backdoors, etc). Second, the application must be able to transmit this stolen data out.
Detecting the first, although somewhat tricky, can be done, while detecting the second is quite easy. In the specific case of WVSX, on analysis I could see no evidence of malicious data harvesting activity and any "calling home" potential can be easily prevented (by either setting a rule in CF to block WV from connecting out, or just by unticking two things in WV itself (the Check For Update and the Provide Threat Statistics boxes).
In the review that I posted long ago in this thread I actually totally disabled the Internet connection of the test system and judged the product on the AI functionality alone with good result.. Although not optimal, WVSX still would outperform protection-wise better than products based solely on dumb data based detection.
So to sum up, I really wouldn't worry about WV stealing information from you, especially as information about you has already been ripped off many times before by things thought to be totally safe.
as always cruelsister's answer is professional and well argued
Thank you very much
[QUOTE = "cruelsister, post: 2998150, membre: 74782"] Salut Bushman!
[/ QUOTE]
I found that this image as a background looks REALLY good. Maybe you can source the image?
It is an image from an Intel Itanium processor, made by Der8auer, with the name: "444.JPG". (There are also 23 other images) I'm not sure if I am allowed to share his business email, so here is his youtube account where you can find that email address: https://www.youtube.com/c/der8auer/about
Another thing because I have some weird performancs issues and I'm not sure what the hell is wrong with my PC - so I just look at everything that seems unnormal: If Wise Vector is scanning anything, WiseVectorSvc.exe produces about 60 hard faults/sec (according to Windows' Ressource Monitor's Memory tab) Could that have ANY impact on performance, i.e. time my PC needs to start any program?
I have 16GB RAM and NO PAGEFILE. (At the time of looking at it, I had more than 8GB RAM free) Windows 10 Pro, OS Build: 19042.906
incompatibility with realtime protection, with ultimate windows tweaker, it will detect as anti AV if you try to disable windows defender, though it allows defender control. WWSX will quarantine ultimate windows tweaker exe file
Thanks! The image looks cool and there is a metallic feeling. I would like to share your info with our UI designer.
It's normal and nothing wrong with your computer. WVSX uses CreateFileMapping API which will cause page faults.
Since Ultimate Windows Tweaker tried to disable WD, WVSX detected it as anti AV. Please add the exe file to Exclusions of WVSX if you think it's safe. Defender control is allowed, because it has so many users.
ultimate windows tweaker is famous, you should whitelist, I've sent file for exclusion to your server
Sure. But in the case you misunderstood me: It's "der8auer"s property. You'd need to license it from him, I guess. You can find his business email here: https://www.youtube.com/c/der8auer/about
I just found that it fits perfectly and wanted to tell you xD
Please refer to my post #715. We would like to carefully consider your suggest. WVSX is always trying to keep users from threat without disruption.
Thanks for your sharing. We will contact him if we need those images.
Hej why is wisevector occupting so much space in programdata : WiseVector_BackUp, around 80 gig of data, 70 mb per file
Not here. 180 files/105Mb.
not every day, today it does, I noticed loss in disk space
for being a low impact / low profile program it does lakes alot of space lol
I even opted out the "Help fight malware by providing threat statistics" and its back again thicked (I did re-install the programme, so that is probably why, but typically a programme remembers settings)
Wisevector what are you doing with 80 gig of encrypted data? Are these threat statistics?
not insinuating anything, I am just curious, maybe its a bug, you should set a timeframe so it removes those files, not leaving so much space occupied, had to free it manually
btw. these smaller files (700kb) appear to be png images but encrypted (according to virustotal)
In my case, I've got 893 files in that folder, but it is only taking up about 9MB in total.
This should be caused by constantly backing up important files that have been edited or modified for Anti-Ransomeware.
Please check the Ransomeware Rollback set up.
You can change the backup folder ( find another disk with larger space ) or click Empty to free up disk space immediately ( the backup folder will be emptied automatically each time WVSX starts to free up hard drive space). You can also disable Ransomware Rollback to stop loss in disk space.
thats informative, thanks, can u add compatibility with adlice ucheck, it spawns temp.exe files that are targeted as malware , difficult to whitelist/exclude
We tested Adice Ucheck with WVSX, but didn't reproduce what you posted.
Can you please tell me what were you doing with Adice Ucheck when WVSX detected temp.exe files as malicious? It would be very helpful if you can upload the files via WVSX or send them to email@example.com. Thanks!
