I have tested it so far running alone using Windows Defender Control and with MS Defender active, no slowdowns either way, no conflicts, and no FPs. After cruelsister's positive reaction I'm waiting for aigle's opinion. I wish WiseVector can find a suitable business model to survive in the long run.

    Thanks for your feedback!
Can you please tell me the file was detected by the static scanning or the behavior protection? If it was detected by the static scanning, can you please upload it to us for analysis ( right click WVSX icon on the tray->click upload file)?

It was detected by the static scanning, the file is the main executable of Xanova Control Panel (mechanical keyboard software), I already uploaded it for analysis.

As always thanks for your support.

    Thanks for your support!
I downloaded XANOVA CONTROL PANEL from support.xanova.com/download/xanova-control-panel-for-mensa-and-mensa-pro and installed it. No alerts from WV.
It seems that we have solved this FP. Thanks for uploading the file to us.

WiseVector StopX developed all their technology in-house, they are not using third-party engine.

    Thanks for trying.
We developed all our engines in-house. :)

Didn't know that Baidu wasn't active anymore in computer security. And yes, it's good for effective marketing, that's why I suggested that you can perhaps find some investor in China.

Well, of course these tests do give a certain indication that WVSX is at least good in stopping the newest malware that is found in the wild. But take a look at Malwarebytes, without big scale testing I would have never known that it's actually pretty bad in blocking lots of malware, if compared to the big name AV's.

Any opinions on WiseVector StopX taking the place of HitmanPro.Alert? I run HMP.A on a couple of computers, alongside ESET NOD32, and I am wondering if people here think that I would in anyway lose or gain protection coverage by replacing HMP.A with WiseVector StopX? For one thing, I am impressed by the level of support provided here by WiseVector StopX. I would like to keep ESET NOD32 in the security mix.

I hope we don't steer this thread into an A versus B discussion. Doing so might get it shut down -- see HERE.

Dont worry, the staff members will do their job by deleting ONLY the posts that dont respect the forum policy, you know that right? Business as usual ...

Yes, I have not asked a question predicated on A versus B. I am interested in a comparison of coverage afforded by the two softwares. I have not asked for opinions on which was better. So far I have read plenty of input here regarding ESET and WV. Inquiring about HMP.A should not set off alarm bells.

Considering that WiseVector StopX is free, lightweight, compatible with other security software it should be a nice complement to ESET; if you replace HMP.A with WVSX you should theoretically have less protection against exploits and keyloggers, but you are gaining more protection against general malware and much stronger protection against zero-day malware and APT attacks (and WVSX does have proactive protection against keyloggers), so I think it is a good trade-off.

TY, Nightwalker. That is precisely the sort of input I'm looking for. :thumb:

Agreed! The best security application you could even use would be an imaging program.

    @Nightwalker -- well said! :thumb:

Amen to that. Since I started imaging regularly, several years ago, I have cut back on my security apps a LOT. (WVSX is now the keystone of my security troika.) Since then, the only times I have needed to restore an image were instances where there was a hard metal crash or I tried out an app that twisted my computer's knickers into a knot. No infections. Zero. Zilch. Nada!

This is also my belief, if one backs up images on a regular basis (daily incremental(s) here), WiseVector Stop-X + MS Defender are more than adequate on Windows 10. My computer is a speed demon compared to what I had in the past, not only due to powerful hardware, but also because I have the bare minimum in terms of security. I think WiseVector's presumably strong behaviour blocker would be a nice complement to MS Defender...

Has anyone tried WiseVector + VoodooShield + Windows Firewall Control? Any possible compatibility problems? Thanks :).

Nightwalker- With regard to Scriptors (like the one to which you referred), WVSX does an interesting job.

For instance, run script that will do an innocuous thing like either Shutting Down or Rebooting a system and it will be allowed. Run a Script that does something silly like opening Infinite Calculators and this will also be allowed. However write a script that will turn off Windows Firewall or one to delete Shadow Copies and these will be blocked; and as you saw a script that attempts to run a secondary Powershell script will be laughed at and blocked.

It is this differentiation that is quite appealing.

Today I downloaded Acronis True Image 2021, from official site, and installed it on a Win7 machine.
WVSX gave a FP and gave the option to quarantine, or exclude.
After I excluded the file, there was an option to report the file as FP, what I did, of course.
Easy to do, and easy to understand. :thumb:
