So if i untick the "Update component automatically" it will only affect the program itself and not separate features? If that is the case the info in that box should be clearer what really happens.
No, if you uncheck the "Update component automatically", all stuff will not get updated automatically, including signatures, modules, programs. You need to update manually when it's OK for you.
For users who want control over the programs updates, not features - just the program, will you implement that possibilty in the program?
I don't understand your problem. On WV's settings simply uncheck the block "Update components automatically". That stops auto updates. The auto update you complain about occurred because you asked for it by placing a check in that box.
Did this issue (path shows empty) happen only once or more? We have added " My documents" to Document Protection like you and downloaded UnHackMe for a test, from the tools menu->Click "reanimator" and reproduced the situation showing in the first PIC, but not reproduce the issue in the second one. Thanks a lot!
OK I see, but is it normal for antimalware tools to use APC code injection, why did you choose this method? Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure that it detects all of this stuff? Because this would make WV one of the most advanced behavior blockers. Actually, how should I see WV, purely as an AV or more like a behavior blocker? Because I assume you don't have to same amount of signatures as the bigger AV companies. And to clarify, if some (malicious) app uses these code injection injections, WV will automatically block this? Also, I installed WV on a friends laptop, and it tried to quarantine a tool named Quick Shutdown, but I could exclude it, so it was easily fixed. But this could mean that heuristics/AI is too agressive or perhaps not smart enough depending on how you look at it. What do you think triggered this detection? https://download.cnet.com/Quick-Shut-Down/3000-2344_4-10070026.html
The wording of the question: "This app is from China, is it app safe?" is inherently political in nature. As I understand Wilders Terms & Rules (quoted in part below), political comments are off-topic... .
Maybe true. The post wasn't deleted, it was overlooked. Not trying to start anything, just wanted to know why it wasn't answered if it's still posted?

Hi, Yes, WiseVector StopX is from China and very safe. This is our private policy:https://www.wisevector.com/en/en-privacy/ I didn't try to overlook this question. We are the developer and I think it's better be answered by a user here who keeps using WVSX for a long time, that would be more impartial. @bellgamin @Azure Phoenix , Really appriciate for your reply!
I had seen those posts over at MT, but thanks @Azure Phoenix for searching for them and dispassionately posting them here to allay suspicions.
According to our test, WiseVector StopX can be more compatible with most AV by using this method. 1. Yes, WVSX can detect the malware using these techniques I posted here. Currently, such techniques are used by malware in the wild more or less. Talk is easy, test result is real. You can test WVSX with some wild malware samples if it's convenient for you. 2. I think most AV has a part as a behavior blocker nowadays, so what do you mean by "purely as an AV"? Sorry, I can't understand. Basically, WVSX blocks code injection being used by malware, the detection name is "WIBD.Heur.Injector". We have downloaded Quick Shutdown and tested it. One file was alerted as malicious. This FP has been solved. Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you @WiseVector This might be a little early to ask but will your company have anything like this for additional protection on the Mac computer? I spend 90% of my time on a Mac.
@WiseVector, I just noticed a potential WVSX problem on our Win7 system (used mainly by my daughter). I installed WVSX under my Admin account on that system and it seemed to be running properly whenever I logged-in. My daughter is setup as a Standard User (as a security measure) and up until now I never noticed that WVSX is not in her system tray although the icon is on her desktop! - what could be the reason for that?
If you log in a standard account, you will need to manually start WiseVector every time you boot your computer. At least until this gets resolved
Thanks for the reply. I did observe that, but I'm bringing it to the attention of @WiseVector because having to do that is simply not an acceptable practice for a real-time security app. WVSX should automatically load into all standard accounts on a system in which it has been installed!
