This freebie does a neat job of cleaning out the Registry junk. It scans the Registry, flags orphaned or bad Registry entries, and shows you the name and values for each.

This utility also includes a Registry Defrag built in so after you perform a registry cleanup, defrag your registry and reboot when prompted

In addition to registry cleaning, Wise Registry Cleaner has a PC tuneup function and a Registry Defrag that are safe tweaks and provide good performance increase!

Is Wise Registry Cleaner better or at least as good as CCleaner?

It's way, way more aggressive than CCleaner. You had better know what you're doing when you hit remove.

I stopped using cc years ago when it was borking a lot of peoples OSs.

It's better than CCleaner registry cleaner at doing something unnecessary :p

You must not have read of the miracle results experienced here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=324058

Though I'll grant that he's not alone in his surprise, either. ;)

Hmm, I tried Wise Reg Cleaner. First time fine, second time it borked my PC. Luckily I had done a registry backup prior to running it. That saved the day for me. Removed WRC and thus keep on using CCleaner's registry cleaner because that one never caused a problem for me and is considered quite safe.
