Hi Heath, Could you tell us what the error message says exactly? Knowing what version of Windows you are running could turn out to be helpfull as well. Regards, Pieter
i tried to give a picture of it, but the smallest i could get the picture was 118kb, when my limit is 100 ok, it says, rundll32.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll exactally like that, excluding one big red circle with a white x in it
Try the following: - Richt-click the Start button, and choose 'Open'. - Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. - Select the View Tab. - Under the Hidden files and folders heading select "Show hidden files and folders". - UNcheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option. - UNcheck "Hide file extensions for known file types" - Click Yes to confirm. - Click OK. Find your Windows\Inf folder. Locate and select the file "sr.inf". Right-click it and then click Install. Tell us whether that helps. Cheers, Tony

I could not find windows/inf folder. Where should i look for this and what should i type? Many thanks Jim.
I followed the procedure with sr.inf, but it did not solve the problem. The winsta.dll message still persists. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Les
Hi Jim. It's located: Open windows explorer [Hold the Windows key ~ flag on it~ hit letter 'E'] click on C:/ drive, look for "WINDOWS" near bottom, click it to expand, find "inf" folder, click on that and then in right side pane look for "sr.inf". See pic....
Do you have anti-virus software? I just found this problem on one of my systems that also happens to be infected with one of the backdoor.coreflood strains. Who knows what else has been done to the system after this backdoor was installed. My paranoia is that when this was compromised/botted etc the system restore services were killed to hamper removal of the viri. IE if I use any system restore point after removing the infection the system will be reinfected and again accessible. Worse, I can't access the system retore services to see if it is running or stop the service so I can remove the infected restore point(s).

Winsta.dll but when right click on sr.inf it freezes Hi everyone, I have a problem with winsta.dll. I tried everything that you said below, but the only problem is that my right click doesn't work. When I do a right click on the file sr.inf it just stays there doing nothing and I have to kill the process explorer and restart it. So I can I simualte a right click without doing a right click with the mouse ? Thanks for your help. Nico
