    i find it very handy and use it almost everyday, its a nice tool.

    Yes, great tool. It's strength is bringing together information from many different locations, such as startup items, BHO's, and Services and has a great startup manager. It also does some monitoring of system files and will alert/allow/block changes, but it's not primarily an anti-malware app IMHO. The plus version adds access to the startup items database + real time monitoring.

    its not really designed to prevent malware, more like a system utility and malware cleanup tool.

    it will, but its def not its strong point, it will DETECT the infiltration (as he says), its not so good at BLOCKING it.

    i ask cause i did a test and tried this braviax malware winpatrol plus bark at it but braviax didnt care like if winpatrol was a chihuahua:argh:

    No.
    I don't view WinPatrol Plus as an anti-trojan or anti-spyware program.
    It's more of a systems tool, alerting about start-up additions for example.

    It no longer POLLS for system changes. It alerts in REAL-TIME. That's the difference. A smarter engine. WinPatrol does a great job for what it does.

    Winpatrol goes on all my installs mainly for it's startup control.

    I did try out the "Recent" feature in being able to kill some rogue installs at reboot.

    I replaced BOClean at work with WinPatrol Plus. I've been pleased with the change...
