has anyone used this is it good or not?
Yes, It is good IMHO
Take a look at the following thread:
i find it very handy and use it almost everyday, its a nice tool.
Yes, great tool. It's strength is bringing together information from many different locations, such as startup items, BHO's, and Services and has a great startup manager. It also does some monitoring of system files and will alert/allow/block changes, but it's not primarily an anti-malware app IMHO. The plus version adds access to the startup items database + real time monitoring.
Count me as another happy WinPatrol Plus user.
i want to ask if you test it againts trojans and or spywares?thanks
its not really designed to prevent malware, more like a system utility and malware cleanup tool.
This is what developer claims re: detecting infiltrations in real-time:http://www.winpatrol.com/rid.html
it will, but its def not its strong point, it will DETECT the infiltration (as he says), its not so good at BLOCKING it.
i ask cause i did a test and tried this braviax malware winpatrol plus bark at it but braviax didnt care like if winpatrol was a chihuahua
I don't view WinPatrol Plus as an anti-trojan or anti-spyware program.
It's more of a systems tool, alerting about start-up additions for example.
It no longer POLLS for system changes. It alerts in REAL-TIME. That's the difference. A smarter engine. WinPatrol does a great job for what it does.
Winpatrol goes on all my installs mainly for it's startup control.
I did try out the "Recent" feature in being able to kill some rogue installs at reboot.
likewise and to check services, thats what i mainly use it for.
I replaced BOClean at work with WinPatrol Plus. I've been pleased with the change...
