Apologies SHvFI I missed the quotes. Seems we are on the same wavelength.
Sent my email to Ruiware to get 30-day free trial, around 15 min. ago. Next I received two email with these subjects:
Never got my trial key as they offered.
WinPatrol WAR (formerly WinAntiRansom) v 2016.12.626 not let to me to run ESET Banking & Payment protection (browser). All programs of ESET Smart Security is whitelist. Allow By Signature on too. And it do not run. What can I do?
here is one i never saw before. has malwarebytes changed their tray icon exe?
got two preemptive strikes warning about WAR files lol
If it detects "Malware-like action", it is protecting you. Even if it's the installer from WAR
Hello, been a year that a I don't install this software, someone can tell me if WAR has auto-update of the program? And if I set 0 for the prompt it will block it or ir will be quarantined?
Is WAR a good alternative for AppGuard ?
As the "new" AG (5.x) only is subscription based and WAR has Lifetime License (I need 3) available at the moment.
Edit: I run this in combination with EAM, NVTERP and Sandboxie.
u have more than enough protection with eam, nvterp and sandboxie.. eam and sandboxie is even enough or only sandboxie with windows defender. why so much overkill?.. thats pure paranoya.
Sandboxie I don't use all the time. EAM / NVTERP and AG are resident and never had a problem with it and they run fine.
Pure Paranoia ? I don't think so, Id rather prevent then have to heal later on.
But I just was asking if WAR is a good Alternative for AG.
if anyone has overkill, I do lol
I personally think AG is really good. in my setup it is much quicker at catching new files then the rest of my apps.
I love AG, but the new AG is subscription based and thus looking for an alternative, thus thinking of WAR or something else (which has Lifetime time license) to replace it.
Have other had a similar problem with Winpatrol/Ruiware?
I purchased Winantiransom (3 lifetime licences) with a money back guarantee. WAR had unfortunately too many FP's to be used on the famify PCs.
I asked my money back. They didn't answer to this email. I sent another one. They finally answered and unactivated my license (WAR stopped working as it should have). This all happened in the end of November.
They however, did not give me my money back. (I had to wait for a while to see my December and January VISA logs).
I sent 6 days ago an email and asked, where my money is. No answer. The company seems to have a very low moral. (Actually, this is also seen in the hype they have on WAR.) This is very different from the one Bill Pytlovany used to have (I have had Winpatrol a LONG time).
It seems I have to contact my credit card company (VISA)
Bret Lowry, the founder of Ruiware, now contacted me. He apologized and promised to act ASAP.
This happened after I sent another email asking them to answer also here at Wilders
Bret may comments this later.
Does it still have a lot of false positives?
Almost four monthes, any news about WAR?
It is not terribly well rated for effectiveness, although it comes from the developer of WinPatrol, which I love and have used for many years
Any one notice the shadow mark in theme of WAR ?
I don't have that shadow on mine.
What do you mean, I thought it was very good at stopping ransomware?
You can try different themes of WAR, you can't miss it.
Tomin now I understand. I thought you were mentioning a GUI bug
it is pretty much another anti exe Rasheed. Not just antiransomeware as cruelsister pointed out and that is why people say it has false positives. All good antiexe's give a popup on new exe's.
I've already reported it to the developer for a year, but it still exist
I tried all the different themes and do not see a shadow. Is it just your computer?
Separate names with a comma.
