When using Windows XP to connect to the internet via wifi, I keep getting an error message that says status-validating identity. why is this happening and how can I fix it?? also I'm worried if this would affect my wifi signal anyway. I'm afraid Internet would become slow.

@sooflymami Why not give it a try, and if it slows your connection speed, change it back to the original setting?

How do I revert to the original settings if something goes wrong?

@sooflymami You just need to enable IEEE 802.1x authentication again.

Also if something goes wrong, would I need to reset my router or my password for it or anything else? I'm worried because I don't know when it comes to routers.

@sooflymami No, you shouldn't need to reset anything.

@sooflymami Just change the settings back to how they were before you changed them.

Also on the Authentication tab. It says to Uncheck the box of Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication.
What does that exactly do? Also would it affect internet for other devices for wifi as well?

Can you simplify what this setting exactly stands for and what it does differently than other settings?

@sooflymami Try Googling it. I'm no expert and you should will be able to find more information by searching.
