I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and saw that a copy of my old Vista files is saved and taking up 70 GB of space. The file is windows.old. I want to reclaim the space and don't need anything on the windows.old file. Can I just delete it?

If you destroy your partitions( or may be even format), no such file. If you just reinstall over old installation, u get it.
