Theres something definately wrong with vista. I have it tweaked and running fast but several problems still remain. When you delete a file/folder(s) it takes along time to delete even on a fast rig. When you try to copy a group of files they dont all copy, some get left behind and they take long time to copy and to top it all it then says running out of memory! I have 4gig! and raid and it constantly thrashing. So i have taken it off! Few days later i see thiese articles and lo and behold.

Doesn't these ruling mean somehow that open source OSes should soon understand how MS programs can install & run on linux? o_O

Does anyone remember or heard of Alohabobs Pc relocator? maybe not, but, it was a software that would transfer all your windows xp programs, settings & files to another XP os either on the fly via network or to a file for later migration. BUT, you probably guessed it, M$ quickly aquired the company and the only sign of the companies webpage you'll find is in software reviews :ninja: :ouch: :thumbd: .

What would be great is if a team of developers seriously/intelligently delved into the mechanics of program relocation to adapt xp program installs to a linux based machine, THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!! I'd drop M$ immediately!!! :D :D  If M$ was obligated to interoperability shouldn't this be happening soono_O what the hell!!!! am I just confused or are the people that should be focused on this sleeping? o_O :'(

The links are down but the point is there's a filecopy problem and slowness in deleting files which is pretty grim for 5 years work.
