Have a Windows 7 laptop. Installed Smart Security today.

Spent the whole day trying to do the updates. Updates would download and install, but the computer would freeze on the reboot. I would get the message "updates being installed, do not turn off the computer".

I would get this message for hours. I would eventually kill the process and do a restore on my computer from safe mode.

Eventually, I uninstalled Smart Security and the 50 mb of updates installed in 10 minutes.

Am I going to have to uninstall SS every time I need to do Windows Updates?

BTW, use the ESET uninstaller and not the Control Panel uninstaller.

Please disable the: Windows Update feature of your software. Reboot your PC and attempt Windows Updates again and post back your findings.

If the uninstaller is not visible via the Control Panel, attempt to navigate to the program via the Start Menu.
