I have install ESET on my daughters laptop. As far as I know nothing else has changed. She now cannot logon to her machine. The initial logon is failing. I am not sure if she was able to logon immediately afterward or not. I am not happy with the ESET support, there is no provision for immediate support. She is in college and has work to do for tomorrow, this is a minor crisis. I cannot determine of this is ESET or a Windows problem. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Do you know if she had another AV installed prior to NOD32? Was it completely removed? What version of Windows is she running? What version of NOD32? Please try the following and let us know the outcome: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN559
McAfee was uninstalled. As far as I know there was no other AV sw. It did not appear to have any MS AV. This is a fairly new Dell machine running Windows 7 and whatever the latest ESET release that was available today. We are in a bit of a panic due to school work due tomorrow. I'll try to follow your link, thanks.
Teenager and computer have exited the building. To be completed in the morning. Thanks for the assistance
i've tried the safe mode and the computer will not open normally. it comes with the same message "user profile failed service failed the logon. user profile cannot be loaded. help please
Try to run repair with your copy of Microsoft Windows. 1. Insert installation CD/DVD and boot from it. 2. Accept the EULA. And select Repair(R button) with your existing Operation System.
After researching, here are two links from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-service/38844b82-a2c1-4fa2-9802-a5318d6f7831
Great now im logged in and i get a message from eset saying error communications with kernel. does this mean eset has been removed because i can't find it in ALL programs.
Is NOD32 listed in Control Panel ->Add/Remove Programs ? From https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=1088576#post1088576 1. Delete the following folders: C:\Program Files\ESET C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUR USER NAME*\Application Data\ESET 2. Download a fresh copy of Eset from here: http://www.eset.com/us/download 3. Install new copy of NOD32
In addition to this, you can also try by manually uninstalling your ESET security solution and then reinstall. Here are step-by-step instructions: How do I manually uninstall my ESET security product? Let us know how it goes.
