do you work with a rescue stick or with reboot?
i dropped aomei completely for being unreliable and buggy.
since all builds after acronis true image 7 got bloated i started collecting acronis ti iso files. currently i still use build from 2013 and for my newer machines build from 2021 - both also working with a ventoy stick.

a backup is only that worth as it can be used for a successful recovery. i am sure i already wrote this, but not for you in special i think.

for partitions i can use easeus or minitoool partition manager, also iso file.

I wrote to AOMEI support: it answered to me very quickly, and very kind, but they say that I have to create a bootable media, with AOMEI - I already had it, and it don't work too - and " add some necessary drivers of the hard drive "; I don't understand which necessary dirver, and before my 11 reinstallatiion AOMEI worked fine without.

    ask them again.
the problem is that they need to link to a windows 11 kit to create a stick.
but if you own some special hardware which need special driver to recognize drives, then you are out of luck. in fact any system which require special drivers need a special boot media, but those are very rare circumstances.

i would bet that you need a bootable stiick to determine if you drives are in good shape.
search for hirens boot cd (HBCD) and create a stick.
it also may show you the current partition state.

if you can recover some important data, i would eliminate not needed partitions, in special windows, and start over. but this time forget WFC and any other praised software which obviously drove you crazy.

Me, having an aomei backup, I'd do the following:
    1. Remove the disk
    2. Plug it in a different PC or external USB enclosure
    3. Run aomei and restore system image to the system partition obviously
    4. Place the disk back into the PC
    I mean , it's a last resort to avoid a clean install.

@ Brummelchen and Mr.X: thank so much for your helping me. :thumb: I wrote again to AOMEI support and they said to me that I had to install on 11 ADK and the WinPE Add-on tool; I did, and now AOMEI restore works fine. Only I would like to know because initially AOMEI restore worked on 11 without ADK and the WinPE Add-on tool, and then it needed them. Anyway AOMEI Support was very kind, fast and helpful.
