windows defender update frequency?

    Hello,
    on vista over the last few days windows defender seems be updating more often.
    see screenshot.
    im sure it used to update once a week or maybe less. but as you can see 3 updates in 4 days.
    can only be a good thing IMO.

    does microsoft have any infomation on what is included in these updates? and update freqency?
    just like antivirus and antispyware companies do?
