For some odd reason, my original Windows Xp cd will not boot
at startup (when I click boot from CD, it says failure).

I have all the contents of the CD on my pc, as shown:

I used Nero to put these on blank CD, the CD registers as the XP cd
    which I made today:

When I put the made cd in, XP installation welcome screen comes up..however when I go to boot from the same cd, it says:
    "Boot from Cd......failure". o_O?

Is there a way to make the cd bootable or program that does so?
Oh and I don't have a floppy drive..

    Is the CD (original) stuffed?

Have you been into bios and set first boot device as CD?

this is not the best way to make it bootable but its the only way i know:

    1. install .net framework 2.0 if u dont already have it

    2. install nlite

    3. start the program and just click next when ur at the welcome screen.

    4. at this screen, click browse to look for the folder with ur windows xp installation files.

    5. click next two times and at this screen only check the last option "Create a Bootable ISO"

    6. in this screen, just click the "Make ISO" button

    7. u can place the file anywhere, just remember where. afterwards, just burn the image to cd using nero, imgburn, or any program that can burn images.

I never knew this program existed and my Windows XP Pro disc works fine, but I noticed that it has options for Service Packs and Hotfixes. You said to only select Create Bootable ISO. Is this because the other features are iffy at best or do they work well with an ISO created?

Thanks WSF I will give that a try. I did try slipstreaming but the "Microsoft Corporation.ing" file wasn't on the disk  (according to ISO buster anyways)

the other features work, but the OP only asked for creating a bootable cd.

I have found the site below to be very helpful. At the bottom of the page are links to creating a bootable disk with various burning software including Nero. They also have download links to the image needed to make the disk bootable depending on the software used. Personally, I found the instructions for creating a bootable disk using winiso the easiest.
