I've noticed that the infocard.exe service (when it randomly starts) is causing major system slowdown and freezes IE7. The service is under Windows Cardspace in XP (sp3). I previously had it under the MANUAL setting.

Is it SAFE to disable this service?

    Thanks.

Birdman, from what can be gathered on the Internet, Introducing Windows CardSpace | Windows CardSpace is part of the .NET Framework versions 3.0 & 3.5 and has been included with IE7.

Looks like a digital certificate for personal use (trying to eliminate the user ID & password concept) when visiting certain business sites, yet I can't find anywhere what those sites are and Microsoft is very vague on who they are as well. Based on that lack of info, I would disable the service and see what happens.
