    Considering what happened in the past. Those big businesses have to ask themselves which one has less of a risk to stay on unprotected systems and possibly suffer through another WannaCry or take the risk of updating to Windows as a service model.

    M.u.s.t. relearn. hehe I was an early user of Red Hat. Hell, even taught myself Sql. But All my clients used Windows boxes and Windoze wares. Sooooooo :eek:

    Thinking of getting me a Mint install and start over....and I never got my l33t wings BTW.:confused:

    @JoWazzoo - may I recommend transitioning using Vms? I now tend to do little on my hosts anyway, so in the end it doesn't matter much.

    The only thing then left for "native" windows is gaming, which I don't do.

    That IS a great idea. I have Sandboxie -- just need to DL me a Linux.

    @JoWazzoo for VM you probably need to use VirtualBox or VMware Workstation Player. Sandboxie is not for executing Gnu/Linux distros.
    There are a few open-source 3D games and closed-source Steam for Gnu/Linux. In Steam there are 2D and some 3D games. Unfortunately not much AAA titles, but there are exceptions.
    For management of Gnu/Linux workstations IT departments can use Puppet and Ansible. Admin need to put more work compared to Windows solutions, but it can be done.
