Windows 8 Certified Computers May Not Be Able To Boot Linux

    Well I just brought a new HP Pavilion Slimline with Windows 7
    and had a HELL of a time downgrading it to Windows XP

    "a hard way to find out about this new bios system"

    Got it working thou, typing on it now, really like the small size
    and is bone quite also

    Before someone ask how come I downgraded
    I did not want that bloated Windows 7
    If windows 8 is the same which will no doubt be
    I will probably be going to Linux next

    You downgraded to a 10 year old vulnerable OS that doesn't even prefetch.

    You've mistaken bloat with optimization.

    Why downgrade? If you need old programs, there's always Compatibility Mode and XP Mode.

    Big mistake.... don't know why anyone would want XP on a new machine. Amazing....
