Windows 11 leak reveals new UI, Start menu, and more (Discussion)

That's the way I was thinking of going if I go down the Win11 road, just to ensure I keep my local account.

 

Guys, I haven't read whole of the topic, but did anyone already try to run Android apps on Win 11?

No because the WS for Android is still resource heavy and sucks.

 

Even with my newer system, tpm and secure boot enabled in bios. tpm.msc says it's enabled and systeminfo says secure boot is enabled, W11 is saying my build isn't compatible lol...

I decided to run this a second time and it actually did work. Not sure why. I did move the files to the public user profile instead of my own. Related? I have no idea.

If Windows 11 is stable, congratulations! You should have no problem getting updates.

 

I'm hoping so. With a SSD upgrade it would still be a usable machine.

 

Good luck with this; I imagine rolling it back is just as unpredictable as installing it. I wouldn't play with 11 without a current image backup of 10.

 

You have 10 days to roll back upon installing Windows 11. After that, you can revert only with a clean install.

 

Or as long as you like with a backup of your system prior to installing or upgrading.

 

I wouldn't play with anything without a backup. I do an incremental every day. I have the 30 most recent Windows 10 backups and so far one from every day of the Windows 11 experience. Not to mention data loss from ransomware, other types of malware, or hardware failure. When customers call and say "My laptop died, can you get our data back?" we ask, "Do you have a backup?" When "no" is their answer, it is ours too.

Nice write up. Especially the paragraph on exercising the use for the DISM command to extend the duration.

 

As a stable release, Windows 11 is suitable for my long term browsers. The fewer updates I have to endure, the more uptime I can have on my PC.

 

Darn it! Staying up FAR too late I've become bored too. First attempt at Win 11 on a machine that all bar the CPU, meets Windows 11 specs.
