I want to run Windows 10 completely bare bone as a virtual machine host. No networking/wireless support needed on Windows.

I can't seem to find a good guide online. Blackviper website is not much help. He does not show explanation what each service does like he used to in the past. His guide also does not show bare bones set up anymore, especially bare bones without wireless/networking.

Why would you us Windows as host for Gnu/Linux guest? You can use Gnu/Linux directly or have guest Gnu/Linux withing host Gnu/Linux.

Software runs better natively than in VM, even when VM is configured properly any kind of of heavy graphics/3D software will run into issues.

You can use "kvm pass through" for your gpu if you have supported hardware.

Just dual boot. Running Windows 10 just so that you can run Linux in Virtualbox is weird and unnecessary. If you are planning on watching videos then you're always screwed using Virtualbox.

maybe he's more comfortable with windows, and/or doesn't feel confident with his abilities to deal with partitions/boot managers etc

Im comfortable with Linux,Mac and Windows. There is just software that runs better on Windows and there is nothing you can do in virtualization to fix it.

    Are you sure?
Search Youtube for "QEMU/KVM VGA passthrough BFH and BF4 in a Virtual Gaming Machine with NVIDIA GTX 780".
