Bugs continue to haunt Win10 version 1909 by Woody Leonhard.

Note: I'm experiencing the Wake-up issue, but no the Search one.

Five years of wasted effort. They could have just kept doing it like before. Simple and steadfast. That's "modern" software development for you.

Optional updates - why does that sound just like the old mechanism? The circle of unnecessary development.

I never put mine to sleep. Too many USB/Sound/Network issues since the beginning of time. I disable it on any PC I have access to. It sucks if it stops you from updating but I'm getting no complaints on 15 PCs with 1909 installed so I'll run it until I can find something else to break. :D

Went from Build 1803 to 1909 (OS Build 18363.535), in a strange way. But, I got there. :)

I have had two restarts, the first of which took at least 30 minutes, before I could start to do anything productive. I checked to see that 'Fast Boot' was turned off, and it was.

The second restart a short time ago was better, but still took at least 5 minutes, and then another couple of minutes or so, before the login box appeared. Then it still was slow going. I managed to open the Task Manager minutes later.

I notice that the 'System Interrupts' were at 100%. This I had never seen until today. I just have to figure out the what is going on with my laptop. It is very disconcerting, the slow restart.

Even opening Edge is enough to put me off, this morning, because it too has changed. I have found this link to begin investigation of the the problem with system interrupts.

Hi Tarnak, there's really nothing to figure out. You just went from 1803 to 1909, don't expect the machine to settle down after 2 reboots.

You have to give it about 2 weeks for all things related to the upgrade to settle down.

You can help your machine settle down. How? When you see high CPU or Disk, dont do nothing. Let the machine do what it wants to do, the machine is doing things that it has to do. And its gonna do them, whether you help it or not. The sooner it gets done, the lesser is gonna bother you when you are using it. So, if you see high activity by the machine, let the machine do what is doing. Dont try to break the activity.

One thing I learned with W10 is that is good to let it idle everyday for a little while. I usually leave it for about an hour, I dont even touch it. That allows the machine to do what it wants to do during this period of time so when I start using it, I can use it without interruptions.

    Bo
