Cool, I'm checking it now, apparently it's live broadcasting.

They are currently showcasing Win 10 on tabs with Metro, yuck.

Sounds cool to me, bring on the free upgrade. BTW, the live stream is kinda shaky and I have lost my connection, seems like streaming tech is still not that great even in 2015. M$ HoloLens does look kinda cool.

No date given during the presentation, just Windows 10 will come out later this year.

I watched and some of indeed looks cool. My first impressions running Win 10 is that it probably is going to be great. If it improves on what I am already seeing, my Win 7 boxes will be upgraded.

Given the timeline of one year after deploying to Win 8.1, all the bugs should hopefully be gone by then. ;)

Very wise of MS to do this. It will bring many people on board who might otherwise stay with 7/8. It sounds like it may be offered through Windows Update...?

The thing to note in that article is:
So, as soon as the final version is available for either Win 8.1 or 7, jump on it!

I don't know, I'd rather give Win 10 a whole year out before upgrading. I can see me staying with Win 7 for a while. If Win 10's that good I wouldn't mind paying for it.

I wouldn't categorize this as newsworthy. The only thing that can be said about the event is the speaker didn't talk about security features. That's not the same thing as security taking a backseat to features and applications. His reference to Microsoft "spying" on people who installed the Windows 10 Tech Preview is also bogus. Microsoft was perfectly clear about data collection in the EULA. If someone was worried about "how their data could be exploited if it fell into the wrong hands" why did they install the OS?
