Only, 5 or 6 choices to make, and finished....Now, I see my normal screen after a boot/start.

:thumb:. Not too long now and you can go through it all again when the MS gods unleash the Fall Creator's update! :D

I hope, that it will be done in 2 weeks, I have a vacation, so I will have time to modify my tweaks, there is a lot of stuff added and removed in FCU. Many sleepless nights ahead. :doubt:

No way! I only got the Anniversary Update, in April, after it was forced on me. So, getting the Creators Update, by choice this time, is enough for the time being. :D

Windows Defender looks very different, now.

They should leave the "Windows Defender" part and call it just "Security Center", but MS wants to persuade people, that is actually WD protecting them, even-though all those features work just fine with WD disabled and using 3rd party AV. I wonder, if coming anti-exploits protection will be WD dependent or it will work standalone as well.

I don't know whether it will WD dependent, or not. I am just a layman when it comes to security.

P.S. I found an old screenshot that I took in February, and how Windows Defender looked like back then. Certainly, is evolving, now.

Hi Tarnak, the old Windows defender UI is still around, but is hidden. You can bring it back if you want. Follow the instructions below, I used Option 2 to create a shortcut. I saved it in my Documents. I use it to verify Windows defender is turned off. When I click it, I get a Group policy message. In your case, when you click it, the old familiar WD interface will open up.

    Hi bjm,

Ever since I installed WSA on my Surface Book, it has worked in tandem. Never did anything special to get it that way. :)

I wonder if its possible to reactivate Windows Defender real time after installing KAV through a registry hack.

I am glad you like it. I like it too. Clicking to open Windows defender via the shortcut is the one way to get the message below confirming WD is turned off completely. Clicking WD in regular places in Settings, etc, don't issue it. :)
