Me too, as I use it every day. I use the command dir/od to list the files in one of my download folders, sorted by date. To do the same in PowerShell, it's Get-ChildItem|Sort-Object LastWriteTime.

Once company gets your data, they can do whatever they want with it.

    hi
    time to switch to mac?
sadly the are very exansive , hardware compared to windows machine
i guess they make a mistake to keep their osx only on their computer , i know they run faster because they have few machine so they can optimaze their operation system
by the way i had an imac and i sold after 2 months
a nightmare to find a photo added on iphoto or a song added to itunes

hi Panagiotis , will stick with w7 or switch to mac?

    Hi mantra,

that is a tough question. Although I am a user of windows, mac and linux the last 2 years I like none of them...
Microsoft, with 10, took control of the OS with the constant updates upgrades (I won't go to the privacy issues).
Apple seems to have abandoned the macmini (the only system of them that I love).. plus they also have privacy issues but at least you can opt out...
Linux... all the distros I tested after 2015 are buggy (= there is no comparison with 2011-2014 distros)

Three days ago I wanted to purchase an AsRock J4205-ITX to check if it is a viable solution for were I work (because the #$%^ debian 8.x gives problems with a system) only to find out that windows 7 does not even boot on that system (Intel stopped supporting 7 for every chipset released after April 2016).
So probably I'll build a 6700k Z170 system and go with Windows 7. Just to have a powerfull system that will last for another 5 years.

ps. As for the FUD "if you do not update the OS your system will get infected..."(as a test) I stopped updating my 7 machines from August 2015. my macmini from 2014 and my debian systems the last six months and none of them got infected. Not saying that is a good practice to not update... all I'm saying is that won't come the end of the world even if you do.

Yes, my point was not everyone is the enemy. If I understood correctly the collaboration between Microsoft and FireEye would be in the enterprise environment where Windows 10 can use Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection. The rest of us can keep blocking telemetry lol.

Lots to worry about since microsoft never actually revealed or demonstrated what data the telemetry is logging/trasmitting and if the telemetry data is separated from the other info that windows collect.
All microsoft is saying the last 2 years is "trust us we are good guys"...

If they want trust they should publicly reveal and demonstrate live what data is collected... and then let us decide if they respect our privacy or not.

Look through this post to see what data is collected.

Thank you Ron, but this stands true for the enterprise editions of windows not the home or pro... plus not always functional data is completely excluded from the telemetry reports
If they also allowed to Manage connections from Windows operating system components to Microsoft services to the home and pro of 10, none would criticize MS.

The article says MS is collaborating with FireEye in the enterprise environment to increase the effectiveness of Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection. Yes FireEye is a third party, but they are not retailers or marketers. What do you see as the problem?

Then I misunderstood, I thought they would also share data of consumer PC's, but M$ has denied that they will do this.
