Is there any way to make the window positions and column widths sticky? if not, could this be put forward as a feature request?

    Hi,

Normally the windows position and the column widths should be conserved if you quit and restart Look 'n' Stop.

What are the Windows and Columns you are refering to ?

The main window when the program is opened up from the tray icon. The columns that are displayed under each of the tabs (e.g., log). They are remembered until I shut down my PC, but the next time I open up the program, everything has been reset back to the defaults.

Yes, I am observing the same!
The columns in the logs or in the internet filtering are not saved after reboot or shutdown. It was saved in version 2.04 though...

    Hi,

Is it the only options that are not saved ?
For instance, if you change another option in the options tab (and press apply), is it conserved when windows is restarted ?
My feelings is that the problem should be global to all the saving in the registry and not specific to the Windows positions. But perhaps I'm wrong, and in this case the investigation will be different.

If you manually quit/restart Look 'n' Stop, are the positions saved ?
If yes, what happens when you restart windows after that, does the windows come back to the default ?

I suppose you are using the 2.05b3 (could you confirm).

    Thanks,

    Frederic

    I am using version 2.05b3 on a Win2k-SP4

My window positions are only saved, when I manually quit LnS and click on the save button. Then when I restart LnS, all changes are accepted and are visible, even after a reboot.
However, the window postions are not saved when I just reboot without manually closing LnS before.

    Thomas :)

Ok, thanks, I think this problem is different from redman's one. In your case it is related to the fact Look 'n' Stop is not closed properly when Windows shut down.

Well, now that I am using the latest version I can confirm that the column positions are remembered if I follow Thomas's procedure. However, I can't get the program to open up maximised from the tray icon (I have to manually maximise it myself). Is that how it should be?

    Hi redman,

Yes you're right the maximized state of the windows is something that is not saved at all.
If you want to have the Look 'n' Stop window maximized all the time, what you can do is to manually resize the window to reach a maximized size.

    Regards,

    Frederic

Thanks Frederic, I'd already tried that and it does work, except that it's not possible to get the screen exactly the same as a proper maximised screen (I'm "splitting hairs" here and being far too fussy for sure). A proper maximise save option would be nicer (I presume it's possible?).

By the way, now that I have used LooknStop for a short time, I really think it is a great little program. Reliable, easy to use, effective and not branching out into non-firewall options (like ad blocking, content filtering, etc).
