I didn't take any further action and all seems OK to me. I wouldn't worry about it. See my post here : https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1722423&postcount=6 Same as you except I didn't bluescreen. The system stuck on shutdown for an hour or so and I force powered it off and back on. The update showed as "successful".

I noticed that you said the update is installed and your machine rebooted and is working fine. Is this all correct? If so and you are not experiencing any issues related to this then you are okay.

    Thank you,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

May I ask you to tell us a bit more about the reasons behind that solution?

Was it for example a virus-definition that caused the problems (completely wild guess here from my side)?

    Thank you

It rebooted as the result of a bluescreen. Upon reboot the update is showing as installed.

Reporting unsuccessful install of the patch on Windows Server 2008 x64 (test server) with signature 5338 installed. ESET NOD32 v4.2.58.3.

The server is currently sitting at "Configuring updates: Stage 2 of 3 - 0 % complete." It's been like that for the last 15 minutes. It should have configured the updates and rebooted long ago.

I reverted my system drive back to just prior to this fiasco (thanks ShadowProtect!).

    Updated NOD32.

    Installed the Windows update.

No freeze on shutdown. Update installed correctly. Success!
