Nope! Despite some neat features – there's no way I would get one of these for the following:

Already spend way too much time in front of my laptop – don't need an on the go system as well!
    The price....OMG!!
Trust is as big an issue as privacy\anonymity these days – how would you trust a device marketed by the organization synonymous with the lack of privacy\anonymity?

No, I never plan to use them. I just don't want to wear spy-glasses.

Sure I would sign up to be a Google spy... 006 and 3/4. Google would have to throw in the car with all the gadgets, especially the ejector seat otherwise I would not be interested.

    No, probably never, because...
    • Not really a fan of Google, the corporation.

    • Don't really like the "wearable" computing concept as it has been so far expressed & implemented. (Although I may like a watch, if it added some truly useful biomedical measurement capabilities beyond just being a glorified pedometer... i.e., accurate blood pressure & heart rate measurement, use of heart-based "EKG type" fingerprinting technology for security, etc.)

    • Don't plan on trying to mess with a "prescription" version of Google Glass (Glasses?).

    • Don't like the awkwardness it engenders, as people are unsure if you are recording them or whatever.

    • Don't like "nerd" technologies that are largely useless solutions looking for a problem... i.e. Google Glass and having to talk to Microsoft's Xbox One.

    • The iPhone and other smartphones were amazing inventions precisely because they consolidated & eliminated a huge set of other technologies from one's life (i.e., phones, watches, cameras, video cameras, music player, calculator, day planners, etc). I do not want to go in the other direction and now add back into my life new items that I have to keep track of and keep recharged without an extremely compelling reason to do so.

If the day ever came when I got Google Glass or anything like it, that would be the day I would look into having my head examined. Needless to say I don't like the way things are headed.

I might have to use it at work one day. I doubt I will ever do it outside of workplace.

I don't think I will. People I've talked to about GG have said the product sounds like something for creepers.

I'd rather find a way to jam it or fry it on the heads of those who wear it.

Annoyingly I have to wear prescription glasses most things (and can't risk them being tied to a tech that could break or go faulty), but I would considering using them on occasion for specific events.

I guess you are right. I can only imagine how annoying that would be as I don't wear glasses.

Anyone else bothered about Google Glass becoming mainstream? This is one invention I really hope doesn't pick up steam.

Agreed. This is a technology that isn't necessary or desirable.

If it does then it should be legal to carry devices that disrupt picture/video taking capabilities.

However I can see how google glass might become useful for pilots, doctors, cops, etc...

I wonder what effect microwaves, a strong RF field, or a strong electromagnetic pulse would have on them.

I agree with multiples of the reasons why not here. Because they are creepy, because it is google, etc.

Another stupid idea to suck money out of techno geeks wallets and deposit it into mega corporations bank accounts. Who needs that crap?
